Material Entanglements

Feb 2026

Shared through a public free event at Siobhan Davies Studios on the 10th of Feb and at 37Looe Street Gallery in Plymouth on the 11th of Feb — Material Entanglements explores how dance and embodied practices might cultivate an embodied ecological awareness through the logics of the mycelium network, both as method and material.

In dialogue with Indigenous wisdom, primarily from the Brazilian Krenak and Yanomami peoples, and a constellation of queer, posthuman feminist, new materialist, and decolonial thinkers, this practice seeks to blur the boundaries between human and more-than-human agencies. It engages queer kinship, desires, and ancestral knowledge as generative practices for imagining otherwise futures.

These informal gatherings invited audiences to sit, interact, and negotiate through scores alongside the material entanglements and me, fostering embodied and myceliated ways of imagining collectively.
